Warning Date: 3:15 PM CST on February 8, 2010
WarningSum:...Winter Storm Warning In Effect Until Midnight Cst Tuesday
Night...
Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow...which is in effect until
midnight CST Tuesday night. The Winter Weather Advisory is no
longer in effect.
* Snow will increase in intensity through tonight...and continue
through Tuesday evening. Snowfall rates should be highest
tonight into Tuesday morning. The snow should end from west to
east Tuesday night.
* Widespread snowfall amounts of 5 to 9 inches with locally higher
amounts are expected by Tuesday night. The bulk of the snow
accumulation will fall tonight and Tuesday morning.
* Northwest winds will gust to around 30 mph Tuesday afternoon and
Tuesday night. This will cause significant blowing and drifting
snow...with near blizzard conditions possible especially in
rural and open areas.
* Roads will become slick and snow covered. On Tuesday and Tuesday
night the significant blowing and drifting snow will make for
very hazardous travel.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet...ice...or strong winds are expected or occurring. This will
make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must
travel...keep an extra flashlight...food...and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.

Warning Message:Light to moderate snow will continue this evening making travel
hazardous. In addition...wet pavement earlier in the day may freeze
up resulting in icy roads.
Use extra caution if you will be out driving tonight.
